HISTORY & MISSION

The Bridges Foundation was founded in 1964 by a group of parents who wanted a place for their loved one’s with developmental disabilities to gain vocational training, grow life-skills, and increase independence.

The mission of the Bridges Foundation quickly became to enhance the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, and our community through training, education, employment services and advocacy.

Today, the agency continues to put this mission into action by providing connections to quality job placements, supported community employment, on-the-job training, and community resources to both the clients and their families.
